]]>Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), Isabela Merced (Madame Web), David Jonsson (Rye Lane), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (Aftersun), and Aileen Wu lead the cast of Alien: Romulus, which centers on a group of young space colonizers facing grave danger while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.
Álvarez’s decision to focus on a younger cast of characters was very intentional, and he was always interested in telling the stories of kids growing up in a space colony, who had nowhere to turn.
“It had all the DNA of the originals, but it automatically felt different and fresh, mostly because kids that age approach problems in a completely different way than adults do and professional adults do. So it’s just a completely different viewing experience,” Álvarez told The Hollywood Reporter.
Alien: Romulus was initially only intended for Hulu release, but 20th Century Studio eventually decided to release it theatrically on August 16.

]]>Outcome will center on Reef (Keanu Reeves), a troubled Hollywood star who must confront his demons and make amends after a mysterious video clip from his past comes back to haunt him.
Outcome marks Hill’s first live-action film as a director since his feature directorial debut Mid90s in 2018. He co-wrote the script with Ezra Woods, in addition to serving as one of the producers alongside Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin under their Strong Baby banner.
Having Cameron Diaz join this project is a huge deal since it cements her decision to return to acting for good. She decided to bring her decade-long hiatus to an end when she accepted the lead role in Netflix’s action-comedy Back in Action opposite Jamie Foxx.
Diaz took a break from acting in 2014, after starring in The Other Woman, S-x Tape, and Annie. She used this time to focus on her other creative endeavors, including her work as an entrepreneur and author.

]]>The new trailer for Challengers opens with Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan on top of the world, ready to take the tennis world by storm. Everything goes upside down after she suffers a career-ending injury, which forces her to leave the tennis court behind and turn to coaching.
Years later, Tashi is helping her husband Art (Mike Faist) overcome a losing streak by signing him up for a Challenger event. To make the whole ordeal even worse, he’ll have to come face to face with his former best friend Patrick (Josh O’Connor)… who also happens to be Tashi’s ex-boyfriend.
Challengers was initially set for the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last year, but Amazon MGM decided to pull it from the festival in the face of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
This project was later hit several delays before being set for an April 26 release date. MGM will release it in the United States, while Warner Bros. Pictures will handle the international distribution.

]]>Mendes is planning to tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history—and one film won’t be enough to get things done. According to his production partner Pippa Harris, they’re plotting “a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time.”
They found a perfect partner in crime in Sony Pictures Entertainment, and their CEO Tom Rothman promises this project “will rock audiences all over the globe”. They’re planning to release all four films theatrically in 2027, and their rollout strategy for this cinematic event has been described as “innovative and groundbreaking”.
The Beatles recorded music together between 1960 and 1970 and became a true sensation all around the globe before going their separate ways. With an estimated 600 million records sold online, they’re one of the best-selling music acts of all time, and many artists have cited them as their main influence over the course of the past five decades.

]]>Oppenheimer was the runner-up for the best film trophy at this year’s BAFTAs, and it lived up to the expectations, beating the likes of Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things to take this award home.
Nolan finally managed to win his first BAFTA for the best director, while the film’s stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. walked away with acting prizes. Oppenheimer was also honored in several technical categories, including best cinematography, editing, and original score.
Despite losing the best film award for Oppenheimer, the creative masterminds behind Poor Things still had a reason to celebrate. This film won five out of 11 awards it was nominated for, but it lost the coveted outstanding British film trophy to The Zone of Interest, which was also honored with the award for the best film not in the English language.
The 2024 BAFTA Awards took place on February 18 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with David Tennant hosting the ceremony.

]]>Pascal has long been rumored to play Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, and his casting has finally been confirmed. The Mandalorian and Last of Us star is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood, and he’ll soon be seen in Drive-Away Dolls before playing one of the key roles in Gladiator 2.
Pascal will be joined by Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, Mission: Impossible franchise) as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing.
Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer wrote the script for the latest The Fantastic Four reboot, while WandaVision helmer Matt Shakman is on board to direct it. This marks the third attempt to bring this superhero film to the big screen, following Tim Story’s two films in 2005/2007 and Josh Trank’s critically panned 2015 reboot.
The Fantastic Four will hit the theaters on July 25, 2025, taking Thunderbolts’s previously announced release date.

]]>Alcock emerged as one of the front-runners for the role of Supergirl earlier this month, and she defeated tough competition in Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly to win this part. This will mark her first major role since she got her big break as the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of HBO’s epic fantasy series House of the Dragon.
James Gunn previously said that their version of Supergirl will be unlike anything we’ve seen from this character before.
“We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from, you know, the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who was raised on a rock chip-off of Krypton and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways,” said Gunn, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Alcock will lead her standalone movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, but she’s expected to appear in another DC project before flying solo. It’s still unclear if she’ll make a cameo in Superman: Legacy alongside David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.

]]>The post Marvel Announces Main Cast of New “The Fantastic Four” Movie appeared first on TheDailyDay.
