I Know What You Did Last Summer is finally getting its long-awaited reboot, and this project is in the safe hands. Camila Mendes and Madelyn Cline will lead the cast of this legacy sequel, alongside Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King.
I Know What You Did Last Summer originally came out in 1997 and centered on a group of young friends trying to live to see another day after a hook-wielding killer starts haunting them, seeking revenge after they tried to cover up a car accident that had tragic consequences.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr. led the cast of the original film, which later produced two more sequels. The door is open for the return of several original cast members, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
What we know so far is that Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is directing the reboot, and she rounded out a pretty impressive young cast. Camila Mendes (Riverdale) and Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) will lead the way, and they’ll be joined by Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), and Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies).
I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot will be released by Sony Pictures on July 18, 2025.
