The Star Wars franchise is expanding on Disney+, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most anticipated shows in development right now. We already know that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will return to their roles from the prequel trilogy, but several more amazing actors are now set to join them.
McGregor and Christensen will star as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, respectively, but they won’t be the only familiar faces in this series. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are set to reprise their roles as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, who took in Luke Skywalker after Anakin turned to the dark side.
In addition to these four Star Wars veterans, the new series will feature several newcomers. Indira Varma, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie joined the cast in unspecified roles.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to take place 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where the titular character witnessed the downfall of his friend and Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker. The series will start shooting later this month, with Deborah Chow serving as the director.
