Taylor Swift Cancels Secret Grammys Performance

Taylor Swift was going to perform at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. But now she is not.

The 2020 edition of music’s biggest night is set to take place tonight, with the “You Need to Calm Down” singer nominated for 3 awards, including Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

According to Variety, the 30-year-old was scheduled to make a surprise performance on the show. She had not been announced as one of the main performers like Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, or Camila Cabello, but it seemed as though her potential appearance was a poorly-kept insider secret, with everyone knowing the “TBA” act was TayTay.

Swift’s cancellation has now come as stealthily as her planned performance — under the radar and in hushed tones. It is expected that her absence will not affect the line-up in an extreme way when the ceremony gets underway at the Staples Centre on January 26th
