The series is still untitled, and it will follow Cassian Andor during the early days of the Rebellion’s battle with the Empire. Diego Luna is set to reprise his role as Andor and Alan Tudyk will reprise his role as deadpan droid K-2SO.
The series was announced last year and was described by Diseny+ as a “spy thriller.” The platform indicated that the show would debut in 2021, but with the coronavirus, production has been halted.
Disney+ has had huge success with the Star Wars series; The Mandalorian is set for a second season and there will be a new series that will focus on a young Obi Wan-Kenobi with Ewan McGregor reprising his role.

]]>The studio has postponed the theatrical release of its forthcoming Pixar title directed by Pete Docter and voice starring Jamie Foxx.
Disney has officially pushed Soul from June 19 to November 20, which means that Raya and the Last Dragon originally set to open on November 25, will now open on March 12, 2021.
Soul is the latest pic to be reshuffled which includes Mulan, which has been pushed to July 24, Black Widow now set to hit theaters November 7 and The Eternals set to premiere February 2021. This means that due to the ongoing pandemic situation there are no Disney movies set to open in theaters until the end of July.

]]>A new film based on the long-running hit animated series debuted on the streaming platform. The original plan was for the film to be released in theaters.
The Simpsons creator Matt Groening announced the news on Instagram writing, “Greetings Friends! Earlier this year we made a nifty little short film called Playdate with Destiny. The response was so gratifying we wanted everyone to see it at home. So here ya go — stream it starting April 10th on Disney Plus.”
This isn’t the first time the youngest member of everyone’s favorite animated yellow family already fronted a short film in the 2012 Academy Award-nominated film, Maggie Simpson in ‘The Longest Daycare’.

]]>The streamer has tapped Joby Harold to pen the upcoming series. Harold takes over serving as scribe on the highly-anticipated series from Hossein Amini who left the project back in January.
Harold’s credits include penning Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and serving as exec producer on John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum. He’s also been tapped to develop a new Transformers franchise for Paramount.
The series will be directed by Deborah Chow with Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the titular Jedi.

]]>Now, Variety reports, the studio has found the two lead characters. Ever Anderson will portray Wendy, while the titular character will be portrayed by Alexander Molony.
Anderson appeared in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 2017, where she played the younger version of Alice (played by her mother, Milla Jovovich). She will also appear as a younger Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow this May. Molony worked on the animated show Claude and The Reluctant Landlord.
The movie will be directed by David Lowery, who previously directed Pete’s Dragon for Disney in 2016. Pete’s Dragon was a remake of a 1977 Disney musical that included both live-action footage and animation. Shooting of Peter Pan and Wendy is due to begin next month.
It should be noted that Peter & Wendy was originally set to be a Disney+ exclusive, but now it seems it will get a theatrical release.

]]>Deadline reports that Alba will lead a series titled — at least temporarily — Parenting Without Borders, in which she travels around the world to explore the ways different families in different cultures raise their children.
The series will be directed by Kathryne O’kane, who produced the documentary series Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat for Netflix. She will also serve as the series’ showrunner.
Along with Alba, executive producers are Andrew Fried and Dane Lillegard of Boardwalk Pictures, Jamie Patricof of Hunting Lane, Doug Banker of Five All in the Fifth and Trevor Engelson of Underground.
The series is based around a 2013 book, Parenting Without Borders: Surprising Lessons Parents Around the World Can Teach Us, by Christine Gross-Loh, Ph.D. The book follows parents in countries such as Finland, Sweden, Germany, France, Japan, China, Italy, and more and offers insights into their child-raising strategies.
The streaming service has other nonfiction shows on its roster, and Parenting Without borders will join The World According to Jeff Goldbloom, Encore!, The Imagineering Story, Shop Class and more. The premiere date for the series is yet to be fixed.

]]>Onward premiers on March 6th and will include a character called Officer Specter, a policewoman who references her girlfriend in one of the scenes.
It should be noted that although it is not the first LGBTQ character that appears in a Disney film, it is the first to do so while openly identifying herself as part of the LGBTQ community. It also should be noted that she’s not a major character in the movie.
According to the movie’s producer Kori Rae, the inclusion of Officer Specter is a way to “open up the world a little bit” and to “represent the modern world.”
Speaking to Yahoo entertainment, Rae voiced his excitement over the performance of actor Lena Waithe, who voiced Officer Specter. Waithe is also openly gay. Rae said he would love to see “an Officer Specter spinoff.”
Dan Scanlon, the movie’s director, also voiced his excitement about the scene, saying it is important, because it’s representative of modern society.

]]>Peck will fill Tom Hanks’ shoes as a detective who tries to solve a murder mystery in which the victims’ dog is the only available witness. Each episode of the 12 ordered will be an hour long.
The creator behind the TV series is Matt Nix, who previously created Burn Notice. Nix will serve as the series writer and executive producer together with Josh Levy from Bones.
This is not the first reboot of the beloved film. A half-hour pilot produced by Touchstone TV and starring Thomas F. Wilson (with the same dog, Beasley) was aired under ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney banner; it did not continue to a full series.
Peck’s previous credits include Nickelodon’s The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh alongside Drake Bell. He also teamed up with John Stamos in Grandfathered, lent his voice in the Ice Age franchise and appeared in Netflix’s indie comedy Take the 10.

Screenwriters Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser) will pen the screenplay for the remake of the 1942 animated feature. Producing the new iteration are Chris and Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano via their Depth of Field banner.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the live-action remake of Bambi will be similar to The Jungle Book and The Lion King, which were not live-action per se but certainly made to look very lifelike.
Other animated classics in the works are — The Little Mermaid, Pinicchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Lilo & Stitch and Hunchback of Notre Dame.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm Marvel and Disney have launched the development of a sequel to the 2019 hit film that starred Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the co-writers and directors of the 2019 pic, are not set to return to the forthcoming follow up. Instead it is reported that Disney is in final negotiations with Megan McDonnell to pen the script.
McDonnell has penned the Marvel-based series WandaVision, which is set to debut later this year on Disney+.
Captain Marvel banked $1.1 billion at the box office worldwide.
