Sci-Fi Drama “Colony” Canceled After 3 Seasons

Sarah Wayne Callies, Josh Holloway, and Alex Neustaedter in "Colony"

After three seasons, USA has decided to pull the plug on the series Colony.

News of cancellation of the sci-fi drama comes after its recently completed third, and now last season.

The network’s decision to cancel the drama thriller follows drastic declining viewership during its final season. While Colony started off with a solid premiere, it took a significant hit in ratings in season three. The show’s last season suffered a drop of 42 percent in viewers versus season two according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series which stars Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies was helmed by creators Ryan J. Condal and Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and centered on a family trying to survive in a near-future LA taken over by aliens which forces them into an underground resistance movement.

The series also starred Peter Jacobson, Tory Kittles, Alex Neustadter, Isabella Crovetti-Cramp and Jacob Buster. Its final episode aired June 25.
