Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger renewed for a second season at Freedom.

The Disney-owned cable network has put in an order for a second, ten-episode season that will debut in the spring of 2019.

The superhero drama, based on the comic characters from Marvel, follows teenagers Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone “Ty” Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), who gained superpowers from an accident, successfully delving into issues of racism, depression and drugs. The series also stars Emma Lahana and Ally Maki.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series ranks as the no. 1 new cable drama of the summer among Freeform’s key women 18-34 and 12-34 demos. The first season was the biggest premiere for the platform in the past two years, according to the outlet.

Cloak & Dagger is produced by Marvel TV and ABC Signature Studios with Joe Pokaski and Jeph Loeb serving as exec producers.
