It seems as though Netflix has a mission to make all of our dreams come true, and their latest announcement is a case in point. The popular streaming service finalized a new deal to develop movies and TV series based on The Chronicles of Narnia novels.

Douglas Gresham, the stepson of C.S. Lewis who wrote this classic series of children’s book, described Netflix as the best medium to bring this story to life. He’s looking forward to working with them towards this goal in the years to come.

“It is wonderful to know that folks from all over are looking forward to seeing more of Narnia and that the advances in production and distribution technology have made it possible for us to make Narnian adventures come to life all over the world,” explained Gresham.

Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said they’re thrilled to welcome dozens of amazing characters from this fantastic world to their family. They’ll be working closely with Mark Gordon of Entertainment One on developing this new adaptation. He produced previous Chronicles of Narnia movies for Disney and is looking forward to going back to this magical universe.

“Entertainment One and I are excited to be collaborating with the C.S. Lewis Company and Netflix who have the capacity to translate the Narnia universe into both stellar feature-length and episodic programming. We cannot wait to get started on the multiple productions we hope to undertake,” said Gordon.
