Netflix Cancels “Spinning Out” After One Season

Kaya Scodelario and Evan Roderick in "Spinning Out"

The competitive figure skating drama Spinning Out has been canceled by Netflix after one season.

Spinning Out was released on January 1st, and after Netflix looked at the viewership data, the streaming giant decided not to renew the show.

The series, created by former competitive figure skater Samantha Stratton, was about Kat Baker (Kaya Scodelario), a figure skater who’s about to stop skating after she suffers from a fall until she decides to pair up with a bad-boy partner, Justin Davis (Evan Roderick). Baker must balance family life, love, and her mental health, while proving she has what it takes to be a pairs skater. Also starring are January Jones, Willow Shields, Amanda Zhou, Sarah Wright Olsen, and Svetlana Efremova.

Stratton also served as an executive producer and co-showrunner with Lara Olsen.

In other news, Netflix also canceled Soundtrack, another new show.
