It’s been 25 years since Mariah Carey released her hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and its legacy still lives on. This tune returns to the charts every time the holiday season approaches, and it managed to set three major records this year.

The 2020 edition of Guinness World Records will feature three new entries dedicated to Carey’s timeless tune – the highest-charting holiday song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist, most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song, and most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours with 10.8 million streams last December.

Even before these records were set, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” already went down in history as a best-selling modern-day Christmas song. With global sales of over 16 million copies, it’s one of the best-selling songs of all time, and Carey’s biggest hit to date.

This song made a comeback to the Billboard Hot 100 chart every holiday season since its original release. It actually made its earliest annual jingle back to the chart this year, proving that its legacy is stronger than ever.
