NBC has officially renewed Manifest for a second season.

The mystery drama is the 2018-19 season’s highest rated new scripted series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series never lost its place as the top first-year scripted show in adults 18-49.

Manifest follows the passengers of Montego Air Flight 828, who went missing for five years. But when they reappeared, they did so with no indication that time had passed for them.

“In just its first season, Manifest has answered many questions about the mystery of Flight 828 and, smartly, asks many more,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents scripted programming at NBC Entertainment.

“Congratulations to [creator] Jeff Rake, our producers, cast and crew who have created an incredibly addictive series with compelling characters and complex relationships.”

While the drama’s freshman run consisted of 16 episodes, according to sources it is likely that season 2 will consist of less.

The series stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina and Parveen Kaur.

Manifest is the 12th scripted series NBC has renewed for 2019-20.
