Netflix is taking on another novel.

The streaming service has announced that it will be adapting the 2016 bestseller from Lily Brooks-Dalton entitled Good Morning, Midnight.

Regarded as one of the best books of the year by Shelf Awareness and the Chicago Review of Books, Good Morning, Midnight is a post-apocalyptic tale that parellelly follows a scientist based in the arctic and the spacecraft crew with whom he is trying to make contact as they return to Earth.

George Clooney has signed on to the project — both in the capacity of director and the lead character, Augustine.

The double-Oscar winner will produce alongside his partner Grant Heslov, while The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith has penned the script.

“Grant and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with this incredible project,” said Clooney. “Mark is a writer we’ve long admired and his script is haunting. We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Netflix as well.”

Production on the film is scheduled to begin in October.
