Taylor Schilling in "Orange Is the New Black"

The ladies of Lichfield are about to leave us…

After following their individual sentences and collective challenges for seven years, Orange is the New Black will debut its final season next month.

Based on the real-life story of Piper Kerman, who spent a year in a women’s prison for money-laundering, the show became the most-watched original production on Netflix.

The streaming service described the upcoming final season as follows: “Piper (Taylor Schilling) struggles with life on the outside, while life in Max, as corrupt and unjust as ever, goes on without her. Taystee’s (Danielle Brooks) friendship with Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms, Gloria (Selenis Leyva) and her kitchen staff are confronted by the hard truth of Polycon’s newest profit stream, while others chase drugs or dreams and grapple with the reality of their place in this world.”

In addition to those mentioned, Uzo Aduba, Kate Mulgrew, Laura Prepon, Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco, Taryn Manning, and Yael Stone will also feature in the final season, which drops on July 26th.
