Ed Sheeran Announces He’s Taking Another “Breather” From Music

2019 has been a record-breaking year for Ed Sheeran, but the singer announced Tuesday that he’s taking a break from social media and music.

The news comes just two days after he released a music video for “Put It All on Me.”

Sheeran had a great year: his No. 6 Collaborations Project album was his third to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, he broke Billboard Boxscore records on his Divide Tour, and he topped the 2010s most-streamed song with “Shape of You.”

The singer decided it was time for a break. “Hello all. Gonna go on another break again. The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see some more of the world. I’ve been a bit non stop since 2017 so I’m just gonna take a breather to travel, write, and read. I’ll be off social media until it’s time to come back,” Sheeran wrote in a post.

It doesn’t look like Sheeran will be leaving the music industry for too long. “I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about,” he noted.
