Disney’s next film will be ringing the bells of Notre Dame.

Of late, the entertainment giant has been redoing many of its animated classics by giving them a real-life make-over.

Amongst the films which have so received the live-action treatment are Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, with The Lion King, Aladdin, and Mulan all set to be released within the next two years.

The next feature on the list has been as The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The 1996 animated flick was based on the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo about a hunchback named Quasimodo who has been forced to live in the cathedral of Notre Dame his entire life.

The remake will once again take advantage of Oscar-nominated duo, Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, for the music, while Tony-winning playwright David Henry Hwang is expected to write the screenplay.

Beauty and the Beast actor, Josh Gad, will serve as producer and might just assume the lead role.
