The 2018 British Academy Film Awards ceremony was held on Sunday at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) was the host of the show.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri took home five awards out of nine nominations, including the ones for Best Film and Best British Film. The Shape of Water, who had the most nominations with 12, won the Best Production Design and Best Original Music awards, while its director Guillermo del Toro ended up winning the award for Best Director.
Gary Oldman won his third BAFTA award, and first as an actor, for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. Sir Ridley Scott got awarded the BAFTA fellowship for contribution to cinema.
