After playing Pietro Maximoff in the MCU, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is ready to portray another iconic Marvel villain. Sony Pictures just dropped the first trailer for Kraven the Hunter, the origin story of one of Marvel’s most formidable and captivating villains.

Directed by J. C. Chandor (All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year), Kraven the Hunter has been conceived as a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. It will serve as the origin story of one of Marvel’s most iconic villains, Sergei Kravinoff, before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man.

Taylor-Johnson previously played Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but this role didn’t come in the way of his casting as Kraven the Hunter. These films are set in a different universe and it’s possible for them to overlap as Marvel explores the idea of the multiverse.

The supporting cast of this project is also quite impressive and it includes the likes of star Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola.

Kraven the Hunter will hit the theatres on October 6, and it’s not Taylor-Johnson’s only exciting new project. He’s also set to star alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the action thriller The Fall Guy, in addition to being cast in Robert Eggers’s Nosferatu.
