The CW canceled many of its beloved shows in recent years, but one of its most beloved dramas will continue its run. Superman and Lois has officially been renewed for its fourth season, which will feature a total of 10 episodes.

Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at The CW Network, confirmed the show’s renewal alongside All American: Homecoming and said they’re thrilled to continue their partnership with Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.

Despite being one of the CW’s strongest performers, there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the show’s future after Season 3. As the network tries to cut costs wherever possible, fans feared that the show’s special effects would be too costly for the network, but The CW decided to continue the story with a few major changes.

Cutting episodes from 13 to 10 was their first attempt to make the next season more affordable. It’s also likely that the next season won’t heavily rely on superhero action and return to its core premise as a family drama about the titular duo.

Superman and Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch and it shows the famous power couple trying to start an idyllic life with their sons in Smallville, but with very little success.
