We can always count on the People’s Choice Awards to take a look back on the biggest pop culture moments of the year, and they did the same at their latest ceremony. Marvel and Disney projects were leading the way, with Black Widow, Jungle Cruise, and Loki taking several prizes home.
Black Widow was one of the biggest winners of the night and it walked away with the award for the movie of the year and female star of the year for Scarlett Johansson. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Jungle Cruise also collected two awards each. Disney continued its domination with the best drama win for Cruella.
Disney+ also conquered the TV categories, with Loki taking two TV awards—the TV show of the year and male star of the year for Tom Hiddleston. Grey’s Anatomy was right behind with two awards while Keeping Up with the Kardashians dominated the reality show field.
When it comes to music, BTS obliterated the competition and won a total of three awards— group, song, and music video of the year with “Butter”. It was also a big night for Olivia Rodrigo, who walked away with two awards, including the new artist of the year.
The People’s Choice Awards were held on December 7th, with SNL’s Kenan Thompson serving as a host.
