Woody Allen’s New Film to be Released in Italy

Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet in "A Rainy Day in New York"

A Rainy Day in New York is heading to Europe.

The Woody Allen film found itself without a home following the cancellation of a deal between Amazon and the Oscar-winning filmmaker.

Despite the 83-year-old denying allegations of sexual assault against him and having not had any charges brought against him, the production company decided to part ways, allowing Allen to do whatever he likes with the romantic comedy.

Filmed last year, the feature stars Timothée Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, and Jude Law.

While not much is known about the film’s plot, it is said to be an ensemble focusing on two young people who arrive in New York City for the weekend.

Production company Lucky Red has now taken over as the movie’s distributor and plans to release it in Italy on the 3rd of October. The date has led to speculation that A Rainy Day in New York could premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.

Hopefully it won’t be raining.
