“Wonder Woman 1984” has been Delayed

Gal Gadot in "Wonder Woman"

We’re going back to the past… but we’ll have to wait a little longer in the future.

All those hoping to see Wonder Woman return in 2019 will, unfortunately, have to hold on a bit longer. The sequel to the 2017 film, directed by Patty Jenkins, was filmed in the summer and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal.

Set in 1984, the blockbuster was originally set for release December 13th 2019. Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, announced the new release date for Wonder Woman 1984 as June 5th 2020.

“We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did,” Warner Bros. said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

We’re getting our lassos ready.
