Yes. We know. You aren’t happy about Game of Thrones coming to an end.

The series featuring dragons, deadly duels, and plenty of deception has been a part of our lives for 9 years, and in just a few weeks it will all be over.

As it turns out, we aren’t the only ones who are sad that it’s reaching its conclusion.

George R. R. Martin is, too.

The 70-year-old, who created Westeros and all the characters we’ve come to know as part of his novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, says that he has mixed feelings about leaving the world behind on screen…

“It’s complex and I’m a little sad, actually,” he told Rolling Stone. “I wish we had a few more seasons. But I understand. [Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] are gonna go on to do other things, and I’m sure some of the actors were signed up for like seven or eight years, and they would like to go on and take other roles. All of that is fair. I’m not angry or anything like that, but there’s a little wistfulness in me.”

Just perhaps, this means that Martin will finally finish The Winds of Winter…
