Tyra Banks Sets First-Look Deal With Universal Television

Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio have tapped Tyra Banks’ producorial skills. 

The iconic supermodel inked a deal with the studios to develop scripted and unscripted content via her Bankable Productions banner. The new deal will not affect her current gig as host of NBC’s flagship reality TV competition, America’s Got Talent. 

“America’s Next Top Model’ has been on the air for 24 seasons, proving Tyra’s standing and commitment as one of television’s top producers,” said Meredith Ahr, president of Universal Television Alternative Studio. “We are thrilled to infuse her creative vision, expertise, and dedication into our studio’s development.”

Universal TV president Pearlena Igbokwe who will work with Banks on scripted content added, “Tyra is one of the most driven producers in television. She has long brought incredible passion to her unscripted projects and I can’t wait to start collaborating with her on the scripted side.”

Bank’s credits as producer include one of reality TV’s most enduring formats, America’s Next Top Model, The Tyra Banks Show that won her two Daytime Emmys and the upcoming Disney Channel movie, Life-Size 2.
