We finally have our first look at Disney’s new Mulan.

And trust us, she’s a girl worth fighting for.

The film is the latest live-action reworking of the animated classics which the studio released in the 90s.

The Forbidden Kingdom star, Yifei Liu, was cast in the titular role following more than a year of searching for the perfect actress.

Production has now begun on the movie which tells the story of a young Chinese woman who poses as a man to join the army and defend her country.

The film, which will shoot in China and New Zealand, recently added a second villain to its cast in the form of Jason Lee Scott as Bori Khan.

The Jungle Book actor will join Yoson An as Mulan’s love interest, Chen Honghui, Donnie Yen as a commander and mentor to Mulan, and Jet Li as the Emperor of China in the picture from Whale Rider director, Niki Caro.

Mulan will get down to business on the 27th of March 2020.
