Tom Hanks is set to have a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

The Toy Story actor will be starring in a biopic about Fred Rogers who famously hosted the children’s program, Mister Roger’s Neighbourhood for more than three decades.

With the feature set for release in October 2019, it now has a title: A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood.

The Sony Pictures film will centre around the real-life encounter which saw journalist Tom Junod (played by Matthew Rhys of The Americans) who accepts an assignment to write a profile on Mr. Rogers and who, in the process, transforms from a jaded reporter as a result of the TV personality’s sincerity.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood is scheduled for release on 18 October 2019.
