A new record has been broken by Sandra Bullock’s new horror film.

Bird Box has been scaring viewers out of their wits since it premiered on Netflix on December 21st .

The Ocean’s Eight actress plays a single mom trying to save her children’s lives after mysterious forces invades Earth and causes people to kill themselves. Those who survive are forced to wear blindfolds or be exposed to supernatural entities that embody their deepest fears.

We told you it was scary.

But it appears as though 45 million Netflix users enjoy that — setting a new record!

“Took off my blindfold this morning to discover that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts have already watched Bird Box — best first 7 days ever for a Netflix film!” wrote the official Netflix film account on Twitter.

The figure represents around a third of the company’s 137.1 million viewers.

We’re sure they weren’t that “chill” whilst watching.
