Thor knows when he has found a good thing.

It has been confirmed that Taika Waititi, who helmed Thor: Ragnarok, will be returning to direct the fourth film in the franchise.

This marks the first time that a director has returned to helm another movie, as Kenneth Branagh and Alan Taylor were responsible for the first and second features.

The decision to hire the co-director of What We Do in the Shadow made perfect sense considering the third Thor movie earned $854 million worldwide and scored rave reviews from critics.

In addition to helming Ragnarok, the New Zealander starred as Korg in the film and reprised the role in Avengers: Endgame.

While the third installment in the Thor series was written by Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle, and Christopher L. Yost, Waititi will take over writing duties for number four.

We’re in for a wild ride!
