Robert Pattinson has just signed up to star as one of film’s most notable characters, and now he has received backing for another.

The Twilight actor was recently announced as the new Dark Knight of Gotham City, taking over Ben Affleck in the role of Batman.

He is scheduled to star in a trilogy reboot helmed by Matt Reeves.

But now another director thinks there is a part that the 33-year-old actor would be perfect for.

Danny Boyle was originally selected as the director of the upcoming Bond 25, until he pulled out of the production due to creative differences.

With the film set to be the last starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, Boyle believes Pattinson is the right man to take over as the suave spy.

“And it was so bizarre, because I was sitting there thinking: ‘Oh my God, they should get him to be the next Bond,’” Boyle told The Guardian about watching Pattinson in High Life. “He must be in his 30s. How old was Connery? He’s ready now.”
