There’s life after Me Before You.

Jojo Moyes’ devastating novel and equally devastating film adaptation still brings a tear to many people’s eyes as they recall Will and Lou’s relationship.

The English author’s most recent novel isn’t expected to keep the waterworks at bay, either.

Set in Kentucky during the Great Depression, The Giver of Stars focuses on a group of women who defy the odds by bringing power to a remote mountainous community, and is inspired by true events.

Although it’s only due for release in October, the book has already been optioned for film rights by Universal Pictures.

Ol Parker, who helmed Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel franchise, will direct the project, on which Moyes will serve as executive producer.

Get the tissues ready.
