Pokémon fans can catch ’em all! Netflix will be releasing a new Pokémon movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, on February 27th.
The film, which will be based on one of the most popular stories from the franchise, will feature a new CGI style to the animated Pokémon movies.
According to Deadline, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution is about Mewtwo, a legendary Pokémon that’s released after researchers find a fossil of the Mythical Mew. When Mewtwo finds out about its origin, it starts planning revenge on Ash, Pikachu, and their friends. You’ll have to tune in to see if the heroes can overcome Mewtwo’s anger and rise to the challenge.
Emily Arons, the senior vice president of international business at The Pokémon Company International, said that “Netflix is the ideal platform to help us execute a global simultaneous launch of an animated Pokémon movie on Pokémon Day, a special moment dedicated to celebrating the worldwide Pokémon fan community.”
