The games are not over!

More than a decade after we were first introduced to The Hunger Games, a prequel is on its way!

Author Suzanne Collins confirmed that the novel — which does not yet have a name — will be set 64 years before the events we came to witness in the original trilogy.

That time of Panem’s history has been deemed the “Dark Days,” which occurred ten years after the first rebellion.

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” Collins said in her statement.

With the prequel coming out on May 19th, 2020, there is already talk of a film adaptation.

“As the proud home of the Hunger Games movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne’s next book to be published. We’ve been communicating with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie,” said Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Joe Drake.

The odds sound in our favor!
