The Walking Dead is entering its 10th season soon, and it is recruiting new characters from the comics. The newest addition to the crew will be Dante, who, as announced by Skybound, will be played by Juan Javier Cardenas.
Cardenas is best known for his roles on FX’s Snowfall, USA’s Damnation and CBS’s S.W.A.T. The actor has also announced his new gig on his Instagram account.
In the comics, Dante is, as described by the showrunner Angela Kang, a “roguish, fast-talking, sometimes charming, sometimes annoying guy who can sometimes put his foot in his mouth, but is an interesting presence in the comics.”
He also has a relationship with Maggie – one which he will not be able to have on the show due to actress Lauren Cohan’s departure.
Cardenas is not the only new addition to the show’s crew this season. Thora Birch will play the Whisperer Gamma and Kevin Carroll joined the show as a character called Virgil.
