The 25th Anniversary of “The Shawshank Redemption” Will be Celebrated in Ohio

One of the most beloved movies in cinema history, The Shawshank Redemption, is turning 25 and the special milestone will be celebrated in Ohio this week – form August 16th till August 18th.

Deadline has reported that the celebration will take place in the locations where most of the film was shot in back in 1994, and that some cast members will attend the events.

Apart from meeting the stars, fans will be able to visit some of the sites shown in the film, including the Ohio State Reformatory. On August 16th, the film will be screened in the Renaissance theatre in Mansfield – when it was first shown 25 years ago.

Some of the cast members who will attend the events are Bob Gunton (Warden Norton), William Sadler (Heywood), Mark Rolston (Bogs), Frank Medrano (Fat Ass), Scott Mann (Glenn Quentin), and Renee Blaine (Linda Dufresne).

The Shawshank Redemption follows Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a banker wrongfully convicted of the murder of his wife and sentenced to life in prison. He befriends Ellis “Red” Redding (Morgan Freeman) and uses his skills to improve his fellow inmates lives – until he breaks out of prison.
