The Mission Impossible — Fallout star is the lead in Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher.
Based on the best-selling fantasy novel series that already reincarnated in numerous video games, the story is set in “the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.”
Cavill plays Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who finds himself teaming up with a sorceress played by Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan as a princess harbouring a dark secret, as all three are forced to navigate The Continent.
The series consists of 8 episodes, with the first trailer debuting at the Lucca Comics and Games convention in Italy.
The Witcher will premiere on Netflix on December 20th.
