It feels as though we have just packed away the red carpets, as the 2019 awards season drew to a close at the end of February.

But before withdrawal symptoms begin to kick in — or those carpets gather dust — we just got word on when it will all start again!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which is responsible for the Golden Globes, has confirmed that the awards will take place on the 5th of January, 2020.

The Golden Globes is the ceremony that kicks off the award season as we make our way towards the Oscars.

Next year’s award season is set to be quite condensed, however, as the Academy Awards will take place on the 9th of February — barely a month after the 77th edition of the Globes.

Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg of Killing Eve and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, respectively, commandeered the 2018 ceremony, which drew 18.6 million viewers.
