Steven Spielberg in writing again, this time for Quibi.

Quibi (Quite Bites) is a a mobile-based streaming service that is set to launch April 6th, 2020. According to creator Jeffrey Katzenberg, the platform was designed for viewers on the go featuring episodes 7 to 10 minutes long.

Spielberg’s After Dark, however, came with an additional request — that the horror series will only be viable after dark, literally. The acclaimed director requested to make it so that his content would only be available to stream when the sun’s down.

Spielberg’s After Dark will feature an in-app clock that will release a new episode for viewing each night.

“Steven Spielberg came in, and said, ‘I have a super scary story I want to do.’ He’s writing it himself. He hasn’t [written anything in a while] so getting him to write something is fantastic,” said Katzenberg. He added that Spielberg has already penned “five or six episodes of a 10 or 12 chapter story.”

Also on board different Quibi projects are Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Anna Kendrick, Doug Liman, Laurence Fishburne and Antoine Fuqua.
