Neil Patrick Harris Jokes About Being Tel Aviv’s International Pride Ambassador

This year’s Pride Parade in Tel Aviv was legen—wait for it—dary!

Neil Patrick Harris has been appointed as the mascot for the 2019 Parade, which was attended by some 250,000 people.

The How I Met Your Mother star ventured with his husband David Burtka to the Israeli city, which is regarded as the New York City of the Middle East.

“We just arrived into Tel Aviv for #telavivpride. First time here, so much to experience. Let the fun begin!” Neil wrote alongside a picture of himself (sporting a new ‘stache) and David standing arm in arm in the Old City of Jaffa.

Believe it or not, this is not only the 45-year-old’s first time in Israel, but will also be his first time he has ever participated in a Pride parade!

“This is my very first Pride parade. I thought I’d start small,” he quipped in reference to the tenth largest parade in the world.

He further joked, “When they asked me to be ‘international ambassador’ I agreed only if my children would start calling me that. But they refused… I’ll be the guy dancing topless on top of the float. I’d better get to the gym.”

We hope he remembers to wear sunscreen!
