“Star Trek: Picard” Renewed for Another Season Ahead of Its Premiere

Patrick Stewart in "Star Trek: Picard"

Star Trek: Picard hasn’t even premiered yet, but we already know we’ll get at least two seasons of this show. CBS All Access is putting their full trust in this highly-anticipated sci-fi series, and they’ve renewed it for Season 2 ahead of its premiere next month.

Star Trek: Picard is set to premiere on CBS All Access on January 23rd, 2020. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, and it’s highly likely that it will also be the case with the second. We haven’t seen Jean-Luc Picard since 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis, and we’ll get to meet him two decades after the events of this movie.

Patrick Stewart made his last appearance as the beloved Star Trek character in this movie, and felt like his time in this franchise had run its natural course – until this amazing opportunity came his way.

“It is, therefore, an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Seeking out new life for him, when I thought that life was over,” said Stewart in a press release, after confirming he’ll take on the lead role in Star Trek: Picard.
