2019 has been another benchmark year for Brad Pitt, who delivered two amazing performances in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Ad Astra, and Santa Barbara Film Festival is celebrating his accomplishments by rewarding him with the prestigious Modern Master Award.
Pitt is following in the footsteps of previous recipients Will Smith, George Clooney, and Peter Jackson who were honored with this award for enriching the culture through accomplishments in the motion picture industry.
The longtime Santa Barbara Film Festival moderator and renowned film critic Leonard Maltin described Pitt as “an ideal choice” to be presented with Maltin Modern Master Award this year, after delivering two amazing, critically acclaimed performances.
“Brad Pitt wears the mantle of Movie Star with good grace. He’s been giving great performances for several decades, but he makes it look so easy that I fear he’s been taken for granted,” said Maltin in a statement.
Modern Master Award probably won’t be the only accolade Pitt picks up this holiday season. He already received nominations for SAG, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award for his supporting turn in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
