Kevin Smith is coming to Stan Lee’s rescue.

The 95-year-old brought us the characters of Spider-Man, Black Panther, The X-Men, The Hulk, and dozens of other comic book superheroes during his time as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics.

Lee’s estate is estimated to be worth between $50 million and $70 million. The Hollywood Reporter recently obtained a declaration signed by the nonagenarian, which alleged that Lee’s daughter, J.C., is attempting to take advantage of her father and gain control over his assets, property and money. J.C. has a habit of overspending, according to the document.

In light of the report—and a bout of pneumonia which Lee does not seem to have recovered from since February—comedian Kevin Smith (who previously directed Lee in the films Mallrats and Yoga Hosers) has now invited the comic book legend to live with him.

Whether Lee decides to take Smith up on the offer or not, let’s hope that the Marvel man finds a superhero in his time of need.
