Shortly after the Jonas Brothers performed at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas made their love official on Wednesday night at a quickie wedding ceremony in Las Vegas.
The couple exchanged heartfelt vows and priceless ring pops at Little White Wedding Chapel’s Chapel L’Amour, where they received the royal treatment with the Elvis Tribute #2 Ceremony.
Turner, 23, looked lovely in a white Bevza jumpsuit paired with gold Loeffler Randall mules, while Jonas, 29, chose an understated grey suit.
Despite a performance by Dan + Shay, being photographed by Diplo, and dropping a whopping $650 on the ceremony, the reason for the matrimony was purely legal.
The couple plans to have a much larger and more ornate wedding in France. However, France’s strict residency laws state that “At least one of the parties to be married must have resided in France for at least forty days immediately preceding the marriage. This precludes a wedding in cases where both parties are only visiting for a short stay.”
So Jonas and Turner needed to get married on U.S. soil first, for their French nuptials to be legitimate in the States.
So even after Game of Thrones ends, at least we’ll have another Stark wedding to look forward to! And did we mention Maisie Williams (a.k.a. Arya Stark) will be a bridesmaid?
