Selena Gomez has been officially dethroned.

The 26-year-old singer has lost the title of Instagram’s most followed user. She is now second to soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo currently has 144.6 million followers on Instagram, compared to Gomez’s 144.4 million.

The title was never something Gomez was keen on in the first place, taking several voluntary pauses from social media. Her latest announcement telling fans she’s taking a break came just over a month ago. The singer posted a photo of herself on Instagram, writing, “Update: taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.”

Since the announcement on September 23, the singer has indeed kept off social media.

She has also opened up to ELLE about her ambitious relationship with Instagram, telling the outlet she hasn’t been on the internet in months.

“The reason why is, it’s not real to me,” she said. “I know my voice is very prominent, but I’m not careless with it. I’m selective. As far as my personal life, someone sees me having a glass of wine? I could give two s**s. I’m not trying to hide. That’s my life. I’m living it the way I want to live it. But it’s about making a conscious effort—if I can have a moment to be with my friends, I’ll take that time. So I don’t have any of it. I had to make that decision.

Ariana Grande is the third most followed Instagram user, with 132+ million followers, while Kim Kardashian is the fourth, with 119+ million.
