The second casting in the Game of Thrones prequel pilot has been announced!

Following the announcement that actress Naomi Watts has been cast in a lead role in the fantasy prequel, the production confirms another casting — Josh Whitehouse.

The British actor is best known for his role in Poldark.

It really comes as no surprise that not much else is known regarding plot or characters. While alongside Watts’ casting we got a short description of the character as a “charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret,” nothing is known about the character Whitehouse has been tapped to play.

But there is some GoT prequel news — George R.R. Martin wrote on his blog that the show’s title will be The Long Night.

The prequel takes place thousands of years before GoT. It chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. Penning the sequel are Martin and Jane Goldman. She will also serve as showrunner. She and Martin will executive produce along with Daniel Zelman, James Farrell, Jim Danger Gray, and Vince Gerardis.
