Sabrina Carpenter did a great job teasing her latest album Short n’ Sweet and gave us several amazing music videos along the way. The gory visual for “Taste” sticks to the winning formula, and sees Carpenter getting into a bloody feud with Jenna Ortega.

Directed by Carpenter’s frequent collaborator Dave Meyers, the music video for “Taste” sees the two women testing many creative murder methods on each other in an attempt to get the attention of the same guy. None of them work and they eventually decide to bury their senseless feud after he winds up dead.

Easter eggs are sprinkled through the music video for “Taste”, but Death Becomes Her is its most obvious source of inspiration. This gory visual features countless references to the 90s film starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, but it also pays homage to Psycho, Addams Family Values, Ginger Snaps, and Kill Bill.

Carpenter released the music video for “Taste” right after dropping her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet this Friday. Two of the songs from this record already found global success ahead of its release – the lead single “Espresso” and its follow-up “Please Please Please”, which became her first song to ever reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
