The reign of Roseanne has well and truly resumed.

The revival of the ’90s series premiered last week, with original cast mates, Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert all returning for the show’s 10th season.

18.2 million people tuned in for the two-part premiere on Tuesday night, making it ABC’s most-watched scripted series since 2008. In the days that have followed, viewership has increased by more than 3.4 million.

The network has obviously recognized a good thing when it knocks them upside the head, prompting its decision to renew Roseanne for a second season — way before it even finished its first!

“We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the Roseanne team has in store for next year,” ABC Entertainment President, Channing Dungey, said in the announcement.
