“The Room” is Heading to Broadway… Or Is It?

April Fool’s Day. The day on which to believe nothing and trust no one. Just like every other day.

The comedic holiday leaves many feeling skeptical and cautious about just what pranks or fake news might be coming their way.

And speaking of fake news… Lin-Manuel Miranda purported a story which we partly wish was true. In honor of April Fool’s Day, the Hamilton creator announced that he would be adapting The Room into a Broadway musical!

The film by Tommy Wiseau — which was the subject of 2017’s The Disaster Artist — has been dubbed “the best worst film ever made”. The “official” cast list, according to TheatreMania would have included Miranda himself, Patti LuPone, Justin Guarini, and Mark Rylance.

Songs from the production were listed as I Just Like to Watch; Half Canadian Bacon With Pineapple, Half Artichoke With Pesto and Light on the Cheese; and Cheap, Cheap, Cheap (The Chicken Song).

We’re so devastated that the report is not true, it’s tearing us apart.
