Nominees for 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards announced

The 5th Annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will air on March 11th at 5:00 pm. The Nominees for the award ceremony were announced on Wednesday. These awards celebrate music heard throughout the year across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide .

Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, DJ Khaled and Luis Fonsi received multiple nominations for their songs.

Nominated for Song of the Year category are “Despacito”, “Shape of You”, “Something Just Like This”, “That’s What I Like” and “Wild Thoughts”.

The Chainsmokers bagged 5 nominations including Best Duo and Dance Artist of the Year. Their collaboration “Something Just Like This” was one of the iHeartRadio’s favorites.

Shawn Mendes, the rising star, received 5 nominations, of which two are for his song “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back”

DJ Khaled’s collaboration with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, “Wild Thoughts”, has received three nominations – Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Hip-Hop Song of the Year.

Imagine Dragons secured four nominations. “Believer” and “Thunder” are both nominated for Alternative Rock Song of the Year.

For the category of Female Artist of the Year, the nominees include Alessia Cara, Halsey, P!NK, Rihanna and Taylor Swift. For Male Artist of the Year, the nominees are Bruno Mars, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd

While announcing the nominees, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia said “We’ve expanded the iHeartRadio Music Awards categories each year to ensure it accurately reflects the tastes of the millions of listeners on our broadcast radio stations and on the iHeartRadio app.”
