The release date for Mark Wahlberg’s film The Six Billion Dollar Man has been pushed back, again.
The sci-fi action film now has a release date of June 5, 2020, a year after its previous release date of May 31, 2019.
The Six Billion Dollar Man is based on the sci-fi TV series of the same name which was based on Martin Caidin’s novel “Cyborg.” The series follows former astronaut, Colonel Steve with bionic implants and superhuman strength.
This is the project’s first set back. Just two weeks ago it was announced the director Damian Szifron (Wild Tales) exited the project. Szifron came on board when the film was still being developed with the Weinstein Company.
Filling the slot vacated by The Six Billion Dollar Man is Godzilla 2, pushed back two months from March 22.
Warner Bros. is still looking for a replacement for Szifron.
