Keep Calm, Harmonizers! Fifth Harmony is Taking a Break

It’s been a tough year for Fifth Harmony fans.

In December 2016, Camila Cabello announced that she would be leaving the group, with contradictory explanations regarding her departure. Despite the controversy (or perhaps because of it), Camila went on to have a number one best-selling debut album.

Now, the remaining members of the quartet — Ally Brook, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane — appear to want to follow suit. A statement released by the band on Twitter has expressed their desire to pursue solo endeavours for the time being, citing the dreaded word — “hiatus”.

The statement claims that the ladies “are excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively”, to find their footing as individuals, in order to gain new experiences, strengths, and perspectives that they can bring back to their Fifth Harmony family.

Fans have understandably reacted with disappointment, questioning whether the “hiatus” is in fact just a euphemism for “break-up”.

However, the group — which was formed during the second season of X Factor US in 2012 — has confirmed that it will be performing in its upcoming shows scheduled until the end of the year.

Stay strong, Harmonizers!
