Musical fans will get a new series to binge-watch at the beginning of 2020.
NBC is releasing Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, a musical drama starring Jane Levy as Zoey, a computer programmer who starts hearing her coworkers, family, and strangers burst out into popular songs after she experiences an unusual event in an MRI machine. Zoey learns to love her new ability, as it helps her see the world in a different way.
“One second I’m getting an MRI, and the next second, people are singing to me!” says Levy’s Zoey in the video. The clip also shows Zoey’s friends and coworkers singing the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction,” and DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.”
Also starring are Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher, and Mary Steenburgen.
We can’t wait until the January 7 premiere date, but until then we’ll keep watching the clip.
